Hands-on part-time position responsible for setting up, checking, and correcting operational and experimental electrical machinery, circuitry, and equipment while adhering to pre-established guidelines and engineering specifications. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Essential Tasks and Duties:• Perform testing of electrical components using automated test equipment, LCR & multi meters, oscilloscopes, etc.• Set up and configure test equipment under detailed guidance to perform routine component testing.• Performs diverse mechanical and electrical tasks under close supervision or detailed procedural guidelines.• Helps out in the warehouse (shipping & receiving).• Performs general office maintenance (such as filing) and other duties as assigned.Desired Skills and Abilities:• High school graduate with strong math skills; preferably with a 2-year degree in engineering or electronics technology. • 0-3 years experience in the field or in a related area.• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office required.• Basic knowledge of Draftsight or similar CAD program a plus. • Some knowledge of inductors or transformers is desirable.• Ability to read and understand engineering documents, schematics and drawings a plus.• High attention to detail.• Strong basic math skills.• Able to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.Pay commensurate with experience. About 20 hours a week. We are flexible in regard to mornings vs afternoons. Engineering students currently enrolled in college are encouraged to apply.
